Michael Bisping sees the funny side of dealing with injuries from his Hall of Fame MMA career.

The former UFC middleweight champion has had one eye for many years, resulting from an injury sustained in a knockout loss to Vitor Belfort in 2013.

On Thursday, Bisping shared a video to X – formerly known as Twitter – that gave his fans an inside look at the life of an ex-fighter living with one eye.

‘The Count’ revealed that he is in the process of getting a new prosthetic made before trying it out for the first time on camera.

“I’m here at the eye doctor,” Bisping said.

"We all know I have one messed up eye. I’m getting a new eye fitted.

“They did a mould and here is the result of the mould.”

Bisping then covers his damaged right eye with the new mould and reveals what needs to be done before it is fit for use.

He added: “Let’s check it out. As you can see, it hasn’t been painted yet.

“What they do is they hand paint it to match the other one because what happens is every few years the eyeball shrinks a little bit and then the fitting doesn’t move quite as well, it’s not in sync with the other eye.

“Currently it’s making it a little bit bulbous. So what they’ll do is trim it down, so it doesn’t bulge out of my eye, and I don’t look quite as psycho as I do now.”

The UFC legend’s wife, Rebecca, was there for moral support and she assured him that his new, unfinished eye prosthetic looked just fine.

Rebecca said: “I think you look great, babe.”

Bisping then turned his phone camera around to get a closer look before joking: “You can’t even tell! It’s perfect!”

Amazingly, Bisping continued to fight with one eye for several years and he defied the odds to win a world title by knocking out Luke Rockhold at UFC 199 in 2016.

In March 2022, Bisping gave talkSPORT listeners a bit more than they bargained for when he removed his eye live in the studio.

Appearing on White and Jordan, the 45-year-old was keen to show the extent of the damage Belfort caused him.

Unfortunately for him, he was unaware the broadcast was being streamed on Facebook and YouTube.

"It's radio so you can't see, it's PG," Bisping said.

Footage from the show quickly went viral on social media, and so did Bisping's latest video about his eye as MMA fans love to know how he manages such a catastrophic injury.

Evidently, he's coping just fine with the support of doctors and his family.
