Aston Villa boss Dean Smith has made some impact at Villa Park since his switch from Championship rivals Brentford.
The Midlands side have stormed into the Play-Offs after 10 wins in a row and have their fans dreaming of a return to the Premier League.
Villa beat Millwall 1-0 at Villa Park on Saturday to extend their explosive form and Smith has insisted his side need to keep it going on the run-in to the Play-Offs.
He told their official club website after the game at the weekend: “We have to keep doing what we’re doing.
We have to keep taking it one game at a time which we have been doing. It’s no mean feat to become history makers for this football club. But, as I have said before, it’s not about that, it’s about getting promoted. That’s our aim.”
Smith is delighted of sides’ 10 wins on the spin: “I am very proud. Nassef and Wes (the owners) came to watch. I had a chat with them before the game. They are very pleased with how it’s going.”
“They can take great pride in the turnaround that they’ve helped at the football club. We’ve had full houses, fans in full voice, smiles on faces and us winning football games. But we know the most important ones are still to come.”
Aston Villa travel to Elland Road to face fellow promotion hopefuls Leeds United on Sunday and will have their sights firmly set on making it 11 wins on the bounce.
