Fraizer Campbell has admitted complacency crept in for Hull City against QPR at the KCOM Stadium yesterday.
Two goals from the in-form Jarrod Bowen gave the Tigers a 2-0 goal lead going into half-time but QPR fought back in the second half to draw 2-2.
It became the third time in this campaign that Hull have thrown away a two goal lead, with it previously happening against Aston Villa and Rotherham United.
Campbell, who has scored 11 goals this season for Nigel Adkins’ side, told Hull’s official club website after the game: “It was a tough one to take and actually felt more like a defeat. Going in at the break two goals to the good, we were cruising and in complete control.”
“All we had to do was come out in the second half and not concede and we’d have picked up the three points. But, unfortunately, we couldn’t do that. We shot ourselves in the foot with the two goals we conceded and only came away with a point.”
The experienced striker also added: “To put it simply, it was far too easy for them to score. It was a bit like the Rotherham game. We didn’t show the resilience that we have done on so many occasions this season.
“Maybe it was down to a little bit of complacency on our behalf or just a case of switching off, but we’ve got to be better than that.”
Hull face a trip to bottom of the league Ipswich Town after the international break.
