Aston Villa, Aston Villa star being tracked by Premier League outfit once again

Aston Villa star being tracked by Premier League outfit once again

According to a report from the Mirror, Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur are “continuing to track” Aston Villa star Jack Grealish after failing in their attempts to sign him last season.

The Mirror has claimed that Champions League quarter-finalists Tottenham Hotspur could look to revive their interest in Aston Villa playmaker Jack Grealish during the summer transfer window.

The North London side are tracking Grealish after they failed in their attempts to sign him during the previous summer transfer window. Now, with the 23-year-old returning to action in stylish fashion after around two months on the sidelines through shin injury, Spurs have reportedly continued to watch Grealish.

Since returning from injury, Grealish has captained Villa to three victories in as many games, netting a stunning volley against Derby County and the winner in the controversial Second City derby, in which he was assaulted by a Birmingham City fan.

Last summer, Spurs looked to bring in Grealish on a possible cut-price deal, as Villa looked set to sell their prized assets in order to raise funds amid financial worries. However, after the arrival of Egyptian investors, they managed to hold onto key players, including Grealish.

There has been reports emerging that Villa are worried that they will lose their star man this summer if they fail to win promotion. But, with nine games left and Villa sat just two points away from the play-off spots, they could yet win a spot in the top six. Even if the club fail to win promotion, it is unknown what Grealish’s intentions are at the end of the season.
